VIRTUAL: Family Book Club: Cast Away: Poems for Our Time

Reading as a family draws us together! Our new Family Book Club is designed especially for kids in elementary school to learn, share, and discuss important topics. April's title is Cast Away: Poems for Our Time by Naomi Shihab Nye.

How to participate: 
  1. Get the book. The first 20 families to register (using the Zoom link below) will receive a copy of the book to keep. It can also be accessed through Hoopla. Need help getting started with Hoopla? Watch how-to videos at oppl.org/how-to-library »
  2. Discuss. Families can participate in one or both ways:
    -Join us for a librarian-led Zoom book discussion and poetry workshop on April 25, where kids and adults can share their thoughts with the community, as well as learn more about poetry.
    -Discuss at home as a family using this resource guide.

Join us at a Spring Gardening Party, co-hosted by the Girl Scouts. At this event, we will read a story about gardening, talk about why gardening is important, and make a planter out of a recyclable container with items found around your house! Families of all ages are welcome!
