In week 4, we are highlighting the physical component of humanityWeek 1 focuses on strategies one can use to build stronger skills for your physical well-being.

2pm-3pm Community Commons- trained facilitators will be available to facilitate a virtual talking Circle.

3:15am-4:15pm Community Commons- trained facilitators will be available to facilitate a virtual talking Circle.

5pm-6pm Community Commons- facilitated by FEELREAL Spaceholders will rotate to hold shared virtual space for conference participants to come together. A space to explore what is being learned and what are challenges. 

6pm-7pm Sterling De Sutter Summerville- The Importance of Being an Ally to Yourself and Others

7:15pm-8:15pm Betsy Grimm Mind/Body Approach to Anxiety Yoga Remedy for Stress, Anxiety and Overwhelm. Are you feeling overwhelmed, agitated, out of balance and like you just can’t turn your brain off? Here’s an opportunity to get out of your head by grounding deeply in your body. Use the science of yoga, guided meditation, breathwork, and sound to balance anxiety and become reacquainted with your true, calm self. Learn powerful Kundalini and Life Force Yoga techniques that bring new steadiness and resilience. Take home three minute “quickies” that can make all the difference when integrated into your daily life. It’s a great workshop for anyone living in these challenging times, including teens and young people.

BIOS

After developing a professional career working in Africa, Asia and Europe, Sterling De Sutter Summerville currently resides in Southern California (U.S.) and works as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager at Snap Inc. (Snapchat). Prior to entering the technology industry (which includes time spent at Google Inc.) Sterling worked in the nonprofit sector with several organizations whose missions centered around LGBTQIA+ advocacy, human rights, as well as youth education. Notably, his professional experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Poland inspired his aspirations to mentor teens and young adults. Sterling received his Masters in Education from the University of Cincinnati and his undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University. Beyond his Program Management work, Sterling enjoys writing, consulting and hosting workshops with student groups at high schools and colleges.

Betsy Grimm has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and teaches a mix of her favorite things. She is increasingly drawn to the power of Kundalini practices as taught by her esteemed teacher, Kia Miller and has trained in her Radiant Body Pranayama, Kriya and Meditation Modules. She is heavily influenced by the work of Life Force Yoga, with its ability to bring balance to anxiety and depression. As a Life Force Yoga Practitioner, A Radiant Body Practitioner, an Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, as well as an Integrative Grief Practitioner, she loves sharing her collection of transformative tools.
