Join us as we welcome representatives from the People's Tribune and the Healing Corner as they speak about their work in Chicago. The People's Tribune
considers itself a tribune for folks that are struggling in this economic climate. Its main goal is to bring the movement together and to create a collective vision of a better world and a strategy to achieve it. The Healing Corner
goes to street corners known for violence and passes out free food and other resources. They also help create a dialogue around the issue of violence and build community relationships.
More Than a Month, the Multicultural Collection, and The Young Patriots Organization will host five spectacular events and exhibits beginning in January and continuing through March. Activities will include Appalachian storytelling and music, film making, music by the Blues to Bluegrass Organization, a discussion with the New Poor People's Campaign, a screening of the 1968 documentary American Revolution II with a discussion of the explosive politics of the 1960s and 1970s with former members of the Young Patriots Organization/Original Rainbow Coalition, and a panel discussion with the Young Patriots Organization/Original Rainbow Coalition, Young Lords (a Puerto Rican street gang turned political), and the Illinois Black Panther Party for Self Defense.
